Fokker Services Receives FATA Approvals for ADS-B Out, CPDLC, and More

Fokker Services has received several approvals from FATA in Russia for modifications including ADS-B Out, CPDLC, the ULD, and provisions for EFB.

Fokker Services, a GKN Aerospace company, has received several approvals from the Federal Air Transport Agency (FATA) in Russia for modifications including ADS-B Out, Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC), the Underwater Locator Device (ULD), and provisions for Electronic Flight Bag (EFB). With these approvals, Fokker Services works directly with local Russian operators to offer these solutions for aircraft registered or operated in the country, including select Airbus, Boeing or Embraer aircraft types.

We are pleased to announce that we have received FATA approvals for our ADS-B Out, ULD and EFB solutions. This achievement further solidifies our position as a highly experienced aircraft modification provider, bringing added credit to our capabilities that are already recognized by airworthiness authorities worldwide. We are confident that our FATA approved modifications will increase our collaborations with long-standing and newly-established customers across the region.

For ADS-B Out Fokker Services, the Global Independent Aerospace Service Provider, can equip aircraft with the upgrade needed to become compliant with the FAA and EASA mandates. The CPDLC solution bridges the information gap between pilots and air traffic controllers, providing a two-way text message communication channel between them, while the EFB solution puts all the necessary equipment in the aircraft to use an iPad® as an EFB in the cockpit. For the ULD, a beacon is attached to the fuselage and transmits a low-frequency acoustic signal for at least 90 days to support the detection of the aircraft if it becomes submerged during overwater operations. Fokker Services has also applied for FATA validation on other Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs).

Since first entering the Russian market in 2010, Fokker Services has served over 400 aircraft of Russian operators with a variety of modifications, including innovative EASA approved solutions for the ADS-B Out and CPDLC mandates. Fokker Services also holds multiple modification STCs from other regional airworthiness authorities in countries such as Egypt, India, and more.
