GKN Fokker Services Redelivers First Alliance Airlines Aircraft in New Heavy Maintenance Checks Deal
Fokker Services, a GKN Aerospace company, redelivered its first Alliance Airlines Fokker 70 aircraft as part of a five-year heavy maintenance checks agreement. The Fokker Services Asia facility now provides base checks for the Australian operator’s fleet of Fokker 70 and Fokker 100 aircraft. This new deal, effective until 2025, builds on Fokker Services Asia’s reputation as a trusted and highly-skilled aircraft MRO provider in the Asia-Pacific region.
Franck Scherer, Managing Director at Fokker Services Asia, said: “Over the past 18 years, our collaboration with Alliance Airlines has evolved and expanded. As the Fokker Type Certificate holder, we are uniquely positioned to serve these aircraft with our expert skills and capabilities. This, in combination with our tailored and reliable services, ensures that Alliance Airlines’ fleet remain in top condition. With the first aircraft base check redelivery performed on time and to the full satisfaction of Alliance, we are proud to build on this long-standing partnership as we continue to support Fokker operators worldwide.”
Established over 20 years ago and strategically located in Singapore, Fokker Services Asia has an excellent track record for on-time redeliveries of aircraft from a heavy check. This is due to the large team of B1 and B2 licensed engineers, as well as the excellent air transport connectivity and logistics infrastructure that enables efficient and reliable parts shipping to and from the hangar. Today, it holds multiple maintenance organization approvals from airworthiness authorities such as the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and more.
Lee Schofield, CEO of Alliance Airlines, said: “Alliance is very pleased with the expansion in our relationship with Fokker Services. With 43 Fokker aircraft in service and long-term plans for the continued operation of the F70/F100, flexibility in our heavy maintenance program is key and having the support of the type certificate holder is essential. We were very pleased with the outcome of the recent base check.”
Fokker Services first partnered with Alliance Airlines in 2002, when the airline began operating Fokker aircraft. Over the years it has provided services and capabilities including repairs, engineering services, parts trading, and modifications such as ADS-B Out for Alliance Airlines’ Fokker aircraft. Along the way, Fokker Services’ has continuously leveraged its OEM expertise as the Type Certificate holder. This new agreement builds on the 2018 Fokker Services Asia heavy maintenance checks deal for the airline’s Fokker 50 fleet.
Last year, Fokker Services brought renewed focus to parts availability in the Asia-Pacific region. The Independent Aerospace Service Provider recently shipped Fokker and Dash 8 components, unique part numbers of spare parts, as well as mod-kit parts for structural repairs from the Netherlands to Singapore. With more stock in the region, Fokker Services Asia is delivering parts even faster to operators across Asia and Australia, and increasing maintenance check service levels in the hangar.
