Fokker Services is Developing Reversible Passenger to Cargo Conversion

May 28, 2020

As airlines continue to find effective solutions under the current COVID-19 circumstances, this conversion will support customers in changing commercial passenger flights to freight operations.

Fokker Services is now developing a reversible cargo transport solution in the passenger cabin. As airlines around the world continue to find effective solutions under the current COVID-19 circumstances, this conversion will support customers in changing commercial passenger flights to freight operations to safely deliver critical supplies and equipment.

The solution follows EASA-issued guidelines, and transforms aircraft by removing the passenger seats and securely stowing the cargo to the floor. Depending on the aircraft type and configuration, up to six tons of payload can be stowed onboard (subject to aircraft type). Fokker Services intends to issue a Service Bulletin (SB) for Fokker 50/70/100 aircraft. Following this SB, Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) can be developed for both single and dual aisle aircraft.
