Modifications & Engineering Services: Bringing Our Solutions to Life

A-Z Design Capabilities
As a former aircraft OEM and current Fokker aircraft type certificate (TC) holder, we have a unique place in our industry. With advanced knowledge of the complete aircraft, we create supplemental type certificates (STCs) entirely in-house for many aircraft systems, including flight handling, avionics, and aircraft cargo conversions. As part of the STC design process, our teams certify each modification, including the ground and flight testing. As a result, we deliver effective solutions and modification kits, complete with an Engineering Bulletin, supplemental manuals, part catalogue, and maintenance check interval recommendations.

Once an STC has been approved, we work with customers to begin the modification installation. Some operators can adopt the STC exactly as it was created. In these instances, we can deliver our solution in as little as two weeks. For airlines with different requirements, we take another approach. We work closely with these operators to understand their needs so we can adjust our modification to ensure the perfect fit.
Aftercare
Once the modification has been installed, our customers can continue with their operations. While more than 80% of our solutions experience no challenges, we take any performance issue seriously. Our engineers visit our customers’ location, wherever they are based, bringing with them the right test equipment. While on-site, they work with the local maintenance and flight crews to investigate and solve the issue. Sometimes, the aircraft is found “at fault”, but we have also experienced and solved design issues; for example, due to a difference between the “paper aircraft” and the actual situation. By bringing our maintenance expertise directly to operators, we troubleshoot the challenge and find a solution.
