Air Traffic Services in close co-operation with the aerospace industry and commercial airlines, have initiated the development of new technologies in the area of Air Traffic Management systems under the acronym CNS/ATM. Consequently, the Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 aircraft will face a substantial number of new operational requirements, originating from the coming changes in the operational environment, both en-route and in terminal areas. These requirements are beyond the capability of the presently installed avionics aboard the Fokker JetLine aircraft. To ensure continued operational capability of the Fokker 100 and Fokker 70, Fokker Services has launched a dedicated CNS/ATM project.
