The FAA issued a new final rule (amendment 121.266) for Digital Flight Data Recordings for transport category airplanes, which has become effective per August 18, 1997.
Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 aircraft are affected by these rules and need to be modified to comply. Fokker Services has developed a modification to meet the new requirements. The modification consists of introduction of four new primary flight control surface positions sensors and a modification to the Digital Flight Data Acquisition unit (DFDAU). Compliance date for FAA registered aircraft is August 20, 2001.
