Dispatch performance of the Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 will be improved by introduction of protection cages on the blow-out panels.
Frequently, the slats of the blowout panels in the cargo compartment come loose when they are hit by luggage items such as thin brief cases and skis. Dispatch without properly installed slats is not allowed because of fire containment requirements.
