Mission Equipment
Maritime surveillance
The surveillance aircraft is focused on control of drugs trade, surveillance of the EEZ, anti-pollution, fish poaching. These are mainly civil tasks and will for that reason be performed by National Coast Guards or outsourced to commercial companies. The aircraft is to be registered under civil airworthiness regulations.
The basis configuration for these aircraft consists of:
- search radar (ISAR/SAR)
- forward looking infrared camera (FLIR)
- 2 consoles
- 2 observer windows
- center wing tanks
- multi-purpose door
- escape hatch
- dual navigation systems
- dual communication systems
- Satcom
The following growth possibilities for the surveillance aircraft can be proposed:
- APU for standalone operation
- Datalink system (e.g. link Y)
- Launch chute for marker buoys
- ESM, with an additional console
- UV devices for oil detection
Maritime patrol activities
The patrol aircraft are focussed on more peace keeping activities and signalling terrorist threats. These activities require higher standard detection equipment and potentially a store management system for intervention purposes. This equipment will be outside the civil airworthiness regulations, and for this reason the aircraft will be under government or military registration.
The basic configuration will include, besides the basic equipment of the surveillance aircraft:
- IFF
- ESM, with an additional console
The following growth potential can to be considered for the patrol aircraft:
- Acoustics
- Hard points, including stub wing
- Store management system
- Datalink system (e.g. link 11 or 16)
- Launch system for acoustic buoys
- TACAN
