Fokker Services gains Authorised Repair Station status Embraer
Fokker Services has been awarded as official Authorised Repair Station for the 135 and 145 series aircraft of the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. The Portuguese airline Portugalia is the first customer to place an order for maintenance services.
Being an Authorised Repair Station for the European Embraer fleet, is a significant step in the development strategy of Fokker Services. This company, which has also an aircraft maintenance capability, is a member of the Stork Aerospace group and has up to now, focused primarily on the existing fleet of some 1,200 Fokker aircraft, which at present account for 80% of its activities. However the numbers of Fokker aircraft in service are slowly declining, as new aircraft are no longer in production. In Europe, a total of 126 aircraft of the Embraer 135 and 145 types are now operational, and approximately 141 aircrafts on order are to be delivered in the coming years.
The Portuguese airline Portugalia has placed the first maintenance order with Fokker Services. The company will carry out a modification programme for 8 Embraer EMB-145 aircraft in close co-operation with Embraer and Portugalia.
Fokker Services offers a range of maintenance concepts, technical support, component maintenance services, parts supply and engineering capabilities aimed at aircraft users, owners and maintenance facilities. The company is a member of the Stork Aerospace group, which achieved a turnover of EUR 585 million in 2000, out of the total Stork turnover of EUR 2.6 billion.
