Fokker Services Aircraft Conversion & Completion Center
Dubai, January 30, 2007
The Middle East is main growth area
Fokker Services, a subsidiary of Stork Aerospace, views the Middle East as the area, which should generate the largest demand for its VIP completion services on large-cabin single-aisle business jets. Market analysis done during 2006 strongly suggests that as a result of a combination of increasing oil revenues, changing travel patterns for many of the affluent Middle Eastern passengers and upscaling from smaller business jets, a substantially higher demand for large-cabin single-aisle VIP aircraft would emerge. Significant demand for such aircraft is also emanating from the Russian market.
On the back of the combined market demand for aircraft completions as well as a number of actual orders for such completions, Fokker Services formally launched - at the 2006 NBAA Convention - its Conversion & Completion Center, which is located at its Woensdrecht facility, in the south of The Netherlands. Currently, a Bombardier CRJ700 is in the process of being outfitted. It will shortly be joined by a green Airbus A319 for completion to ACJ configuration.
The original market analysis is vindicated by an overwhelming interest for VIP completions from parties all over the Middle East, particularly for the 2007 and 2008 timeframe, but extending to 2010. Additionally, a significant demand is expected to emerge for upgrades of In-Flight Entertainment systems and communication systems, which date from the mid-to-late nineties.
Aircraft types
Most demand - at least in the short term - has been for completions of green A318s and A319s.
Additional demand exists for completions of green BBJs as well as conversions of pre-owned 737NGs and CRJs. Given its actual experience, Fokker Services primary focus will be on these three main aircraft types. At the same time, there continues to be an interest in further VIP conversions of the Fokker 100. In this respect, an auxiliary fuel tank system, to extend the aircraft's range to some 5,000 km, is currently under development to be fitted initially to a number of Russian Fokker 100s.
OEM heritage
With most of its employees having built up an enormous experience with the former Fokker aircraft manufacturer, Fokker Services is naturally well placed to apply its design, system integration and completion services to green aircraft or conversions of existing ones, as witnessed by its EASA 21.J Design Organisation Approval for Large Aeroplanes as well as its EASA Production Organisation Approval. In addition, there is a significant track record of aircraft having been converted to VIP or special mission use. This includes a number of Fokker 100s, Fokker 70s, F28s and Gulfstream Vs.
The Woensdrecht facility in general, which has 5 hangars with over 16,000 m2 (170,000 ft2) plus supporting workshops, has more than 40 years of experience in maintenance and modifications of all Fokker aircraft and numerous other types as well, including the Boeing 737 and Bombardier CRJ series.
Fokker Services, as the Type Certificate Holder for all Fokker aircraft types, currently supports over 800 Fokker aircraft worldwide with a full range of services. Logistic and component overhaul & repair services are extended to the Bombardier Dash8 series as well. Further growth in the component overhaul & repair market is being pursued as evidenced by the 2006 acquisition of US company AIRINC.

Fokker Services enters strategic co-operation with Cades in India
Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands, December 6, 2006
As a result of the increasingly project-based nature of its engineering activities and the associated demand for greater flexibility, Fokker Services has entered a strategic co-operative venture with the Cades engineering agency in India. On Thursday 9 November, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by CEO Hans Berends van Loenen of Fokker Services and Dataram Mishra, the CEO of Cades.
With this co-operative venture, Fokker Services has reinforced its long-term competitive position and paved the way for further growth. Now, Fokker Services can make flexible use of Engineers from India who are educated and trained by Fokker Services.
After a stringent selection process, India was chosen as the most realistic location for co-operation. English is the lingua franca; the country has an excellent infrastructure, there are many highly educated people available and the country has a reputation to keep in the field of ICT, technological applications and aeronautics. In addition, Indian aviation companies have recently bought many aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. As a result of the compensation schemes, there is a possibility of many orders from Boeing, Airbus and their subcontractors for companies that perform activities in India.
Following extensive discussions with various engineering agencies in India, Fokker Services chose Cades as the most suitable partner for co-operation. Fokker Services will assist Cades with projects for new aircraft building programmes. In turn, Cades will offer assistance if Fokker Services offers large (conversion) projects, such as aircraft conversions from passenger to VIP aircraft.
Hans Berends van Loenen had the following to say about the partnership: "This co-operative venture gives us an even firmer foundation for our Engineering knowledge, which serves as the basis for further growth. Not only for Fokker, but also for non-Fokker aircraft."
Fokker Services is part of Stork Aerospace. Stork Aerospace develops and produces advanced components and systems for the aerospace industry, and supplies integrated maintenance services and products to aircraft owners and operators. In 2005 the group achieved a turnover of € 551 million with 3,384 employees out of the total Stork turnover of € 1.82 billion.

Germania chooses ABACUS from Fokker Services
Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands, December 6, 2006
"A firm basis for the future!" With these words, Andreas Wobig, Technical Director of wet lease specialist Germania, signed the ABACUS service contract with Fokker Services on the first of November 2006. He did this together with Stephen Hands, Vice-President of Marketing & Sales for Fokker Services at the Germania headquarters in Berlin.
With this, the extension of this contract until the end of 2012 became a fact.
With 19 aircraft, Germania is one of the largest Fokker 100 owners and provides wet leases to Air Berlin, Hapag Lloyd and DBA. Germania has been an important customer for Fokker Services since 2003. Partly facilitated by the FUTURE100® programme of Fokker Services and Rolls Royce, Germania has taken over a number of Fokker 100 aircraft from US Airways, which ran into financial difficulties following the events of 11 September.
With this ABACUS service contract, Germania is assured of guaranteed repair prices and throughput times of more than 700 critical system components, based on the number of flying hours of a Fokker aircraft.
The extension of this contract demonstrates the wet lease specialist's satisfaction with the service level of the Fokker Services logistics support.
Stephen Hands added that Germania's decision underlines the strong market position of Fokker Services and that everything possible will be done to build on this position: "We will show that Germania has made the right choice."

Fokker F100EJ and F100CS largest-cabin bizjet at Teterboro
Orlando, October 16, 2006
Recent measures by a government / industry working group to reduce noise at Teterboro Airport (TEB) in New Jersey included a reconfirmation of the 100,000 lb MTOW limit. This implies that the Fokker 100 Executive Jet (F100EJ) and Fokker 100 Corporate Shuttle (F100CS) remain the largest aircraft that can operate from TEB.
Both the F100EJ and F100CS have a standard MTOW of 98,000 lb and a total cabin volume of 4,100 ft3. When equipped with a 4-cell Auxiliary Fuel Tank System the MTOW enables a true continental range capability of over 2,600 nm with 30 passengers.
Both the F100EJ and F100CS can be completed in a wide variety of configurations. Typically, the F100EJ has 4 cabin compartments plus entry / galley area and 2 restrooms. Two Fokker 70s, the smaller version of the F100CS, are currently in use by the Ford Motor Company.
With exterior noise levels some 15 EPNdB below Stage 3, the F100EJ or F100CS are virtually Stage 4 compliant.
Conversions and completions of Fokker 100s to F100EJ and F100CS are done by Fokker Services, a Stork Aerospace subsidiary, at its Completion & Conversion Center in The Netherlands, while support for these aircraft throughout The Americas is handled by Fokker Services, Inc, in Atlanta, GA.

Fokker Services announces order for CRJ700 Executive conversion
Orlando, October 16, 2006
Stork Fokker Services, a subsidiary of Stork Aerospace, have recently won an order to convert a Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet to a full executive version. The converted aircraft will be delivered to an undisclosed customer in the first quarter of 2007.
The aircraft was manufactured in 2005 and is currently in full airline configuration. The conversion entails taking out the complete existing interior and installing a luxurious, three-cabin executive interior with 21 seats certified tor takeoff & landing, all based on an in-house design. The new interior includes new sidewall & ceiling panels, sound proofing materials, SATCOM and ample IFE and Cabin Management systems.
The new executive interior will be certificated by Stork Fokker Services in accordance with EASA as well as FAA regulations. The actual completion will be done at Fokker Services’ newly established Conversion & Completion Center at its Woensdrecht facility in the south of The Netherlands.
With 21 passengers in its spacious 2,100 ft3 (71 m3) cabin the NBAA range is over 2,100 nm (4,100 km).
This conversion represents the first executive conversion of a Bombardier CRJ700. Given the aircraft’s favorable characteristics as well as the expected near-term availability of low-time pre-owned aircraft, a significant follow-on conversion potential is expected.

Fokker Services boosts Conversion & Completion Center
Orlando, October 16, 2006
Fokker Services, a STORK Aerospace subsidiary, is poised for a major expansion of its aircraft conversion and completion business. Based on a substantial short-term market demand as well as a buoyant longer-term market outlook, a dramatic increase in all relevant capabilities is under way.
While some of the demand comes from the maritime patrol and special mission segment of the market, most demand is likely to be generated by completions of ‘green’ aircraft and in particular conversions of low-cycle airliners to corporate and executive use.
Currently, amongst various other projects, a Bombardier CRJ700 regional airliner is being converted to an executive transport at Fokker Services’ Conversion & Completion Center at Woensdrecht in the south of The Netherlands. In addition, an auxiliary fuel tank system is under development for installation in three Fokker 100s, which are also being converted to executive aircraft. Early 2007 will see the start of the completion of a green Airbus A319CJ.
Fokker Services’ ancestry includes many of the capabilities of the former aircraft manufacturing company, including very strong design skills and methodologies, which have formed the basis of its EASA Design and Production Organisation Approvals (DOA & POA). The DOA allows Fokker Services to do engineering activities on all aircraft types, without the involvement of the particular aircraft original equipment manufacturer, should this be required.
New projects are likely to involve a number of Boeing BBJ as well as Airbus ACJ completions in addition to various Fokker 100 conversions to executive and special mission use.

Orlando, October 16, 2006
Stork Fokker Services, a subsidiary of Stork Aerospace, have signed an agreement with the Stumpf Group for the completion of its new Airbus A319 Corporate Jet (A319CJ).
This A319CJ completion represents a major step in growing Fokker Services’ recently established dedicated VIP / Corporate Conversion & Completion Center in The Netherlands.
The actual completion will start March 2007, when the green aircraft will be delivered by Airbus to the Woensdrecht facility of Stork Fokker Services. Redelivery of the completed A319CJ will be in September 2007.
The completion will entail the total design, engineering, certification and actual installation of the heavily customized interior. The cabin interior design will be made in cooperation with Industrial Design Mahler, based in Germany. The cabin will feature 4 compartments including a private bedroom with adjacent restroom with shower in addition to galley, lavatory and crew rest areas. SATCOM and ample IFE and Cabin Management systems will be an integrated part of the cabin.

Logistic Support Program Contract Signed with Air Niugini - July 2006
Fokker Services has just concluded a long-term contract to provide comprehensive logistic support for the Fokker 100 fleet of Air Niugini, the national carrier of Papua New Guinea.
The contract will initially cover two aircraft, but will grow to four as Air Niugini adds additional Fokker 100’s to its fleet in the coming months. The logistic support program will have a unique 3-tier structure including the positioning of flight-critical components on-site at the Air Niugini base in Port Moresby, parts availability from a subsidiary pool of components to be located in Singapore, as well as availability from the central pool in The Netherlands.
In particular, the subsidiary pool in Singapore is a new element in this program and Air Niugini can be considered the launch customer for this service. Access to this pool of high-value components will also be offered to other Fokker 100 operators in the Asia Pacific region, thereby providing them with a cost-effective source of spares without the need to invest heavily in a stock of their own. Given that Fokker Services Asia is already established in Singapore, and with its central geographic location and excellent connectivity to other countries in the region, Singapore was the logical choice for the location of this pool.
The relationship between Air Niugini and Fokker stretches back to the very origin of the airline over 30 years ago. At that time Air Niugini operated Fokker F27’s, and subsequently have been a long-time Fokker F28 operator. Four of these aircraft are still in service on domestic routes in Papua New Guinea and will be replaced by the Fokker 100’s in the course of 2006/2007. In addition to serving domestic ports, the Fokker 100’s are also used for international services into Australia.
Fokker Services is exceptionally pleased that the long-term relationship with Air Niugini has been extended and strengthened with the signing of this contract. It also shows that the Fokker 100 is still considered a highly competitive solution to regional airline requirements in the region, particularly when coupled with the comprehensive and innovative support solutions, which Fokker Services can offer. The location of Fokker Services Asia in Singapore demonstrates a strong commitment to the Asia Pacific region, and this was a factor in Air Niugini’s decision to select Fokker Services as their logistic support provider.

Special Certificate of Airworthiness for the Fokker 100 SOSTAR-X demonstrator aircraft. T
Nieuw-Vennep, January 20, 2006
Today, the Netherlands’ Airworthiness Authority issued a Special Certificate of Airworthiness for the Fokker 100 SOSTAR-X demonstrator aircraft. This Fokker 100 is owned by Stork subsidiary Fokker Services and has been extensively modified to accommodate the SOSTAR –X system (Stand-Off Surveillance and Target Acquisition Radar Demonstrator).
The engineering and modifications performed by Fokker Services include a 5 m long SOSTAR radar radome installation, antennae relocation, as well as mission system installation, cooling and power supply. Windtunnel tests have also been performed to verify the effects of the large radome on the aircraft flight envelope; structural reinforcements in the tail were made to compensate for higher attainable slip angles.
SOSTAR-X flight tests will be done during the course of 2006 and the aircraft will be based at Fokker Services’ facilities at Woensdrecht Air Base in the south of The Netherlands.
The Fokker 100 SOSTAR-X demonstrator aircraft program is yet another successful engineering and conversion program following on the trails of similar programs in the last 3 years to convert 2 Gulfstream 5 aircraft to special mission aircraft for use by the Japan Coast Guard and 2 Fokker 60 Maritime Patrol conversions for use by the Royal Netherlands Air Force. At present Fokker Services is in the design phase of a Cockpit Upgrade Program for the (K)DC-10s of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
The Fokker 100 is a modern, cost-effective aircraft with excellent performance characteristics, backed by comprehensive support. The Fokker 100 fleet is being operated by 34 operators around the globe and has accumulated close to 8 million landings.
Continued, competitive support for close to 900 Fokker aircraft around the world remains the main mission of Fokker Services, ensuring a long future of these aircraft.
Fokker Services specializes in integrated maintenance, modification and support services for owners and operators of commercial and military aircraft. It is part of the Stork Aerospace Group, which had a turnover of $ 495 million in 2004 with 3,200 employees. The total Stork turnover was $ 1.8 billion.

Stork Aerospace launches the FUTURE100 EXECUTIVE JET concept
Dubai, 8 December 2003
Today, at the Dubai Air Show, Stork Aerospace Services launches the FUTURE100 Executive Jet (F100EJ) concept for new owners/users of Fokker 100 aircraft. The F100EJ is a conversion of the Fokker 100 which is specifically customised for use by large corporations, governments and high net worth individuals. The F100EJ is aimed at replacing some of the around 125 Chapter 2 large business jets such as converted Boeing 727s and 737s, BAC 1-11s, F28s, DC-9s and various Russian aircraft, most of which are now between 25 and 35 years old.
In addition to this replacement market, Stork Aerospace is aiming the F100EJ at operators of smaller business jets that wish to upgrade their fleets to aircraft offering significantly more cabin space at similar capital costs.
The large cabin volume of the F100EJ lends itself to a wide variety of completely new interiors, customised to suit the travel needs of any customer. A full range of systems for communication, entertainment and aircraft self protection, both in flight and on the ground, can be installed.
To increase the range of the basic airliner version, an auxiliary fuel tank system (AFTS), consisting of a series of fuel tanks in the underfloor cargo holds, is currently in development. The typical range with 10 passengers on board will be 6,000 km, allowing a non stop flight from New York to London. Certification and delivery of the first F100EJ are scheduled for the end of 2004.
Through the years Fokker Services, the Stork Aerospace Services operating company handling these conversions, has developed a wealth of experience in designing and supporting executive conversions of the F28, Fokker 70 and Fokker 100. The company specialises in integrated maintenance and modification services for owners and operators of commercial and military aircraft, and forms part of the Stork Aerospace group. This group achieved a turnover of € 411 million in 2002 with 3,225 employees, out of the total Stork turnover of € 2 billion.

Stork and KLM to work together on maintenance of Fokker aircraft
Naarden, 27 October 2003
Fokker Services, part of Stork Aerospace, and KLM Engineering & Maintenance intend to work together closely on the technical maintenance of Fokker aircraft. The partnership will focus initially on further extending and optimising the maintenance of the KLM Cityhopper Fokker fleet. At a later stage the two companies intend jointly to strengthen their presence on the maintenance market for regional aircraft. The combined expertise of both KLM and Stork in this field is expected to create a strong basis for the development of these activities.
Fokker Services and KLM both currently provide maintenance services to KLM Cityhopper. For this purpose the Fokker Services maintenance facility at Schiphol has recently been moved to the same hangar in which KLM carries out minor maintenance work for the Cityhopper fleet.
Fokker Services will start by handling the so-called 'B-checks' by order of KLM for KLM Cityhopper, which are at present performed by KLM in Norwich (UK). This will reduce the number of aircraft movements and greatly improve the link with day-to-day line maintenance, which in turn will further increase the availability of the aircraft. KLM and Stork have additionally made agreements for interchanging personnel and equipment on an informal basis to optimise operations.
Fokker Services provides integrated modification and maintenance services to aircraft operators and owners. Fokker Services is part of Stork Aerospace. This group, which also includes Stork’s activities in the new aircraft building market, achieved a turnover of 411 million in 2002 with 3,225 employees, out of the total Stork turnover of EUR 2,1 billion.

In response to the ongoing market demand for the Fokker 50 Maritime, Fokker Services is introducing the Fokker 50 Maritime "Eyes Over The Sea".
Fokker Services is able to offer a cost-effective solution for the Maritime Aircraft requirements of a broad spectrum of customers such as Navy, Coastguard, and Search and Rescue organizations.
Annually a number of Fokker 50 aircraft migrate to new operators. Most of these Fokker 50 aircraft have flown considerably less then their design life. The exceptionally long life and the high quality of the available Fokker 50 aircraft, after having been operated by commercial airlines, make it possible to give these aircraft a second life as a Maritime Platform.
Because of the proven lifetime of the platform, a modified Fokker 50 Maritime has an average operational lifetime of 30 years and can compete with any new-build Maritime Aircraft of its class.
The Aircraft's wide speed range, low noise and vibration, manoeuvrability in all phases of flight, and long endurance of 12 hours, that can optionally be increased to 15 hours, make it an excellent platform for the maritime patrol role.
The Fokker 50 Maritime "Eyes Over The Sea" has the ability to execute a broad spectrum of missions required for round-the-clock surveillance of coastal and adjacent sea areas. Specific missions include:
- Fishery and Poaching protection; during the last decade there has been a dramatic increase in illegal fishing and poaching of protected fish species.
- Anti Smuggling patrol; such as drugs smuggling and illegal export of natural resources.
- Search and Rescue: the Fokker 50 Maritime is equipped in accordance with the ICAO recommendations. The excellent low level flight capabilities and in-flight operable door provide the required tools for these missions.
- Offshore Oilfield protection.
- Pollution Detection and Mapping; accidents and flushing of oil tanks at sea require maritime environmental control by means of IR, optional UV and Synthetic Aperture Radar equipment.
Each nation has different requirements depending on its geographic location and threats. The flexible design of the Fokker 50 Maritime makes it adaptable to these requirements.
The growth capabilities of the Fokker 50 Maritime "Eyes Over The Sea" enable installation of electronic intelligence facilities, acoustic detection and processing equipment and electronic self-defence capabilities. The wing load capability is 4800 lbs, unsurpassed by other aircraft of the same category.
Uninterrupted and efficient operation of the Fokker 50 Maritime is of major importance. This depends heavily on the quality of technical training, operations support, spares support, and maintenance and engineering.
Therefore Fokker Services offers, in close cooperation with the new customer a tailor-made ILS package, including participation in the ABACUS logistic program.
Fokker Services has been providing product support to Fokker Maritime Aircraft for over 25 years now.
The company is the Type Certificate holder of the Fokker 50 and premier support provider for the Fokker 50 Maritime.
The company supplies a full array of maintenance and repair activities, the design and installation of modifications, and services to owners and operators of commercial and military aircraft.
Fokker Services forms part of the Stork Aerospace group. This group achieved a turnover of € 478 million in 2003 with 3.000 employees, out of the total Stork turnover of € 1.94 billion.

Fokker Services and Goodrich have signed an agreement for the introduction of a video surveillance system for Fokker aircraft. The video surveillance system (VSS) will enhance security on the aircraft because it allows the flight crew to monitor the flight deck entrance area on demand.
The Video Surveillance System (VSS) will consist of a 6.4 inch monitor and two camera’s with infra-red capabilities (night vision). The primary function of the VSS is to enable the flight crew to determine if a threat exists prior to opening the strengthened flight deck door and to determine if a request for access to the flight deck comes from an authorized person.
The system allows monitoring of flight deck entrance, forward galley and passenger entrance area up to the first seat rows. The flight crew can make their observation from the seated position in line with the ICAO and JAA requirements.
The desired camera view can be selected from the pedestal or the system can be switched off to avoid distraction.
The use of two camera’s and carefully selected camera positions will ensure that hiding behind galley walls or other separation walls will be noticeable. This makes the system superior to the devices like peepholes or bullet resistant windows in flight deck doors which provide only a limited view into the cabin.
Fokker Services is presently defining the integration of the VSS. The system will be on offer early 2003. The package will include an approved Service Bulletin, the VSS and equipment required for installation, manual updates etc.
The standard VSS functionality can be expanded by adding more cameras, recording facilities etc. These additional functionalities will be developed as options depending on market demand and regulations.
Fokker Services mission is to secure continued competitive operation for operators and owners of aircraft by offering integrated technical and logistic services packages. Fokker Services is part of the Stork Aerospace Group. The group has 3,335 employees and achieved a turnover of EURO 421 million in 2001, out of the total Stork turnover of EURO 2.2 billion.

Fokker Services strengthened flight deck door
Posted: Tuesday, November 19, 2002
Fokker Services announces that the strengthened flight deck door for the Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 has successfully passed the certification tests for penetration resistance and intrusion resistance.
During the last months, a development program - including extensive testing - was performed to ensure that the new strengthened flight deck door for the Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 design meets the requirements that were introduced after the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attack.
Certification tests, which were witnessed by the CAA-NL, demonstrated that the design is able to withstand multiple impacts of 300 Joule at critical cross sections like decompression panels.
The final testing included 14 impacts on 7 different locations.
The Fokker Services door design does not require structural reinforcement to the aircraft structure except for a modified profile on a galley wall.
The strengthened flight deck door makes the Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 compliant with the mandatory requirements issued by the FAA that are specified. ICAO has issued a recommendation for a worldwide compliance on November 1st 2003.
Launch customer for the strengthened flight deck door is American Airlines operating 74 Fokker 100s. Total order book already covers around 50 % of the operational fleet of Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 aircraft including operators under FAA and JAA.
Fokker Services offers several options to the Fokker aircraft operators. Operators can buy a complete new strengthened flight deck door or operators can buy a modification kit and modify their existing flight deck door in a repair shop or by Fokker Services.

MONTENEGRO AIRLINES TAKES 3RD FOKKER 100
Posted: Monday, July 01, 2002
Montenegro Airlines operates a fleet of three Fokker 100s, the third was delivered this week. The airline is taking the aircraft (operating lease) from Amsterdam based debisAirFinance for a 39 month period.
The other two Fokker 100 aircraft are 100 % owned by Montenegro Airlines. Montenegro Airlines will add its third Fokker 100 in the existing Fokker Services' Logistic Spares Services Program (LSSP), also
known as Abacus, which gives them direct access to a pool of components covering all components including LG and APU. The strong point of this pool is that it covers all Fokker 100 versions with regard to component and vendor differences.
CASA
Also Montenegro Airlines will add their third aircraft to the Continued Airworthiness Service Agreement (CASA). The CASA is an unique concept which ensures that operators are provided with a baseline package of documentation and engineering services so that they are assured of the airworthiness of their Fokker fleet and also to operate their Fokker aircraft in the highest economic and competitive fashion.
Certain service publications are distributed exclusively to operators who have entered into a CASA. CASA assures, in effect, access to the capabilities and know-how of the Type Certificate Holder for the Fokker fleet.
