Austrian Airlines receives final Fokker 100
Woensdrecht, June 20, 2007
With the receipt of the final Fokker 100 out of a batch of 14 aircraft, Austrian Airlines shows its commitment to the operation of Fokker aircraft for its regional network. The Fokker 100’s will be added to the Fokker 70 fleet that has been owned by the Austrian Airlines Group for many years.
This delivery marks the end of a fleet expansion program at Austrian Airlines which started in 2004 with the purchase of ex-American Airlines owned Fokker 100 aircraft. These aircraft have had major overhaul and modification tasks performed by Fokker Services in its Woensdrecht facilities, including the installation of a complete new interior.
The Fokker 100’s will be operated by Tyrolean Airways (part of the Austrian Airlines Group) in order to expand their network in Eastern Europe.
FUTURE Programs
Driven by the FUTURE100® project, Fokker Services has assisted the remarketing of Fokker 70 and Fokker 100 aircraft with modifications and support programs to sustain the continued competitive operation of Fokker aircraft. After the launch in 2003, this program has enabled the migration of over 200 aircraft to new owners, whilst winning the prestigious Flight International Award in 2005.
This program has been followed by the ‘FUTURE Horizons’ program, introducing technical, support and financial solutions aimed at enhancing the aircraft’s economic life well into the next decade.
